DEP — DEVlink Engineering PlatformUser Guide

What's in DEP

This page lists what you get when you install DEP, how to find the version you have, and which platforms, file formats and third-party products DEP works with.

What the installation contains

  • The DEP desktop application with all workspaces described in this guide.
  • Runtime hosts for FMI 2 and FMI 3 (co-simulation, scheduled execution and model exchange), customer software (vECU), physical models and state logic, and an FMU builder.
  • 13 bundled example projects (nine starters, three authoring tutorials and the ChargeLink EVSE project), each a clean copy with retained sources, embedded FMUs and saved scenarios, pinned by SHA-256. A support matrix and short guides are included. See Starter Projects.
  • DEVlink licence management: node-locked, floating and USB-key licences. See Licensing and Editions.
  • LICENSE.txt, THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt, SECURITY.md and CHANGELOG.md. CHANGELOG.md lists the changes in each version.

Find your installed version

  • Settings → About & support → Application version.
  • The launch splash screen shows Version ….
  • The setup wizard welcome page shows the version.
  • Windows Settings → Apps lists DEP with its version.

Workspaces, labels and supported formats can change between versions. If what you see differs from this guide, ask DEVlink for the guide that matches your version, and quote the version in every support request.

Projects and upgrades

Each DEP version installs into its own version folder, and your settings, licences and projects are kept when you upgrade. Projects are upgraded when you open them in a newer version and may then not open in an older one, so keep a copy of important projects first. See Upgrading.
